“Now it came about at the lodging place on the way that the Lord met him and sought to put him to death. Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son’s foreskin and threw it at Moses’ feet, and she said, “You are indeed a bridegroom of blood to me.” So He let him alone. At that time she said, “You are a bridegroom of blood”—because of the circumcision.”

This might make your case but hear me out. When God told Moses to go back to Egypt, he made NUMEROUS excuses not to go (he was afraid after all) couldn’t speak, they wouldn’t believe him, he even asked his father in law for permission (perhaps hoping Jethro would stop him). What happens to us when we disobey our parents? Hopefully, you will get consequences. What makes us think that Moses didn't get consequences for his disobedience. Yes, he did, and his wife was smart not to disobey God.
