Scandals come and go. However, if it a common occurrence, I can see why people would not like to return to the church. There must be trust in the church in what they teach and how they spend their finances. Traditional churches tend to be patriarchal to the extent that it suffocates women and their ministry. We no longer have a patriarchal society, or at least a vast number of people have grown up without a father figure.
