The mistake of many people who read the Bible is not understanding the history of when the writing was put onto parchment. Take Genesis, you will read about slavery, polygamy, and different types of incest. ALL of those practices were acceptable in THIER society. So then when people want to discredit the Bible, they use OUR society to judge the past. Translations are made so we can understand God’s word now. I'm not gifted with knowing Hebrew and Greek to read the original texts.
